The Geeklog Demo Site, kindly hosted by Michael "Ironmax" Brusletten, will be unavailable from November 16-19 while Michael is moving house. At least that's the plan - please don't panic should it take a little longer. The demo site will be back ...

BB stops some spambots before they even get a chance to post, but Spam-X catches those that get through - including humans trying to spam (we had a few of the latter here on geeklog.net over the last couple of days).

You can view the site's HTML code and just copy&paste that into a block on your site (oh, and please "steal" the icon instead of linking to us).

CAPTCHA 3.1.0 Released

The latest release of CAPTCHA v3.1.0 Plugin is for Geeklog v1.4.1 or higher and provides additional protections against spam bots registering or posting on your system.

This new release still provides easy installation, easy integration with Geeklog (New User Registration, Comments, Email User, Email Story, Story submission, Remote Users) and other plugins (Forum, Media Gallery, Rating). See online Documentation

Geeklog 1.5 Migrations

For those of you who using Geeklog in corporate environments you may have have run into the situation where you want to migrate a site based on Geeklog 1.5 from, say, your development environment to your test environment (or from server A to server B). Currently this isn't supported with 1.5 and it was the focus of one of the Google Summer of Code (GSoC) projects. For those of you who simply can't wait for the results of the GSoC to be published I've created a very simple script that allows you to do such migrations.

How it works is simple.

What is Geeklog?

Geeklog is a PHP/MySQL based application for managing dynamic web content.

"Out of the box", it is a blog engine, or a CMS with support for comments, trackbacks, multiple syndication formats, spam protection, and all the other vital features of such a system.

The core Geeklog distribution can easily be extended by the many community developed plugins to radically alter its functionality. Available plugins include forums, image galleries, and many more.
